Tigers

Things that are special about tigers. Tigers are the biggest cat in the world.They camouflage in the grass and look invisible. Tigers have been around for a very long time.Baby tigers are blind at first but only half survive.Tigers have hunched backs.

Tigers now.

Today there are less than 3900 tigers left in the wild.There are around 8000 in captivity.The South China tiger has come back from extinction as well as the Bengal and Sumatran tiger.Three tiger species have become extinct and the remaining six are endangered.

Tiger species

The Javan tiger is small compared to other asian species but they are larger than the Bali tiger and similar in size to the Sumatran.Javan tigers were declared extinct three decades ago.

Tiger have lost an estimated 95%

The clearing of forest for agriculture and timber as well as the building of roads and other developments pose serious threats to habitats
