I am your Nursery Lead Mrs Pendlebury and I am your Nursery Deputy Lead Mrs Arikboga and together with our Nursery Assistant Mrs Holding we would like to welcome you to The Brow.
This is our class page where you will find out what we are learning in school each half term.

Our Class Timetable
Literacy & Numeracy
Children will take turns to choose our end-of-the-day story from the reading area. They will be encouraged to select their favourite book and share why they have chosen it, helping to build confidence and a love of storytelling.

Physical Education
Please ensure children wear PE kits to school on a Wednesday
PE Kit: white t-shirt, navy jogging bottoms/shorts, school hoodie/jumper and trainers or pumps.
Rewards
The children will earn rewards for demonstrating positive behaviour, positive attitudes towards learning and working towards our school three school rules:
1. Be Safe
2. Be Kind
3. Be Respectful
The children will receive smiley faces for individual behaviours, on receipt of 10 smiley faces each child will take home a star. Class points for whole class efforts will be rewarded,when 10 class points have been awarded the children will choose their class reward. One child each day will also be rewarded with a star of the day certificate .
At the endof the Summer Term during our Graduation Assembly the children will all receive certificates and pries for positive behaviour.
Stay and Play Sessions/Upcoming Events
Stay and play sessions will take place on the last Friday of every month. They will start at 9.00am and end at 10.30am. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to spend time the classroom, play with your child and talk to staff members. Please see the list of stay and play dates below:

- Friday 26th June
There are no stay and play sessions in the months of December and July as these months are busy times of the year with many additional planned activities.
Information has been sent via School Spider about our upcoming trip to Eureka on Wednesday 8th July.

What are we doing this term?
This term our Nursery class welcomes new children to join our family we hope that they will be very happy here at The Brow.
All parents will have planning and activities emailed out to them so that children can complete activities at home .
Nursery staff will be in regular contact offering advice and support.
Spring 1 - Pathways to Write - Let's all creep through Crocodile Creek.
Rhyme of the Week
Each week we will learn a new Nursery Rhyme. We hope that by the end of the year that the children will know at least 38 Rhymes which will be a good start for Reading.
Number of the Week
As part of our Mathematics work we will introduce a new Number each week. We will link each number to shape and use numbers in real life situations.
Our Lending Library
Each week children will be able to select a book from our class library to take home for the week. Books need to be returned on a Friday so that the children can exchange it for a new one.
RAG rating
This week we were delighted to receive notification of our RAG rating.
Early Years at The Brow has been graded as Green!!
'To be rated Green a setting will be making accurate self evaluations on good practice and providing high quality childcare and early education' (Halton Borough Council - October 2019)
