Spring Term 2

This section will be updated during the Easter holidays.

Spring Term 1

The children have had an enjoyable half term learning about cities, transportation and materials. We loved listening to the adventures of the Naughty Bus and learning all about London. We designed and created air, land and water transportation. We also tested materials based on their ability to float and whether they were waterproof or not.

In PE, we learned a dance about the circus and we practiced our jumping skills. We particulary enjoyed jumping over the appartus! In PSE, we enjoyed learning about New Year celebrations around the world. We tried Chinese food and thought of our own New Year's resolutions.  In RE, we learned about special stories with a particular focus on the Qur'an.

Our half term highlights have been: enjoying a chinese meal, making methods of transportation and experimenting with materials.

Please use the gallery section to see photographs of our learning.

Well done Class R! What a great half term of learning and having fun!

Autumn Term 2

This half term we have been busy learning all about different celebrations. We learned about: Diwali, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day and the Christmas Story. We enjoyed learning about the different seasons and observing the Autumn leaves falling down. We learned about different weather conditions and what we need to wear during the winter. We are able to recognise that bare trees are a sign of winter.

We took part in many visits and trips. We went to the library, visitied Santa's grotto, took a walk to the postbox and a visited the church for our yearly Christingle service. We enjoyed dressing up as the Christmas story characters for our Nativity performance. We particulary enjoyed danicng on the stage as Disco Stars! We hope you enjoyed our performance.

Our half term highlights have been: making our very own cardboard box Christmas tree, jumping off the aparatus in our Gymnastics lessons and having our faces painted during the Santa's grotto visit.

Please use the gallery section to see photographs of our learning.

Well done Class R! You have really impressed us this half term with your excellent learning and engagement.

Have a very merry Christmas!

Autumn Term 1

What a great first half term! We have really enjoyed getting to know the children and playing with them in school. The children have worked hard this half term by learning our daily routines and structure. We have focussed on learning our school rules, looking after our equipment and tidying up at the end of activity sessions.

The children have really enjoyed taking part in our daily dough disco sessions. We know all about the importance of having strong fingers! The children have also learned about signs of Autumn, living things and their own history from birth. We discussed how we have changed since birth and what it is that makes us living. After learning about living things, many children used the magnifying glasses to find living things in the outdoor provision.

Our half term highlights have been: making gingerbread men, catching the mischievous gingerbread man who jumped out of the oven, taking part in Yoga for World Mental Health Day, learning about colour mixing and getting to know our buddies.

Please use the gallery section to see photographs of our learning.

Well done Class R! We are really pleased with your progress so far!
