Our Class Timetable

During Autumn 1, we will gradually work towards implementing this timetable, ensuring that the transition is smooth and manageable for everyone. We will take a flexible and supportive approach as the children become familiar with the new routines.
Children will take turns to choose our end-of-the-day story from the reading area. They will be encouraged to select their favourite book and share why they have chosen it, helping to build confidence and a love of storytelling.

In Literacy, the children will be beginning Drawing Club. We will share high-quality texts together, learn new vocabulary and develop our understanding of stories through discussion and creative drawing. The children will have opportunities to use their imagination, develop their language skills and explore characters, settings and storylines in fun and engaging ways.
In Numeracy, we will begin by getting to know our classroom and learning where our toys belong, as sorting is an important mathematical skill! We will then develop our understanding of number through subitising, counting, exploring number composition and describing sets of objects.

Below are the sounds we will learn in Autumn 1. Attached is a document to use at home with your child.
Our Curriculum Intentions & Learning Journey

This half term, we will be exploring lots of exciting topics together! During Autumn 1 term, we will be learning all about ourselves, our bodies and the world around us. Children will explore their five senses, body parts, movement and how they have grown and changed. We will discover where our food comes from, learn about Harvest, investigate the signs of autumn and explore seasonal treasures. We will also develop our computing skills and finish by making delicious pumpkin soup!
Our enquiry question for Autumn Term 1 is: What do I know about me?

Rewards
The children will earn rewards for demonstrating positive behaviour, positive attitudes towards learning and working towards our school three school rules:
1. Be Safe
2. Be Kind
3. Be Respectful
The children will receive praise points for individual behaviours and class points for whole class efforts. When 20 class points have been awarded the children will choose their class reward. One child each week will also be rewarded with star of the week. If excellent work or achievement has been demonstrated the children may get to visit Mrs Webb and show their work. The EYFS team will always be watching to see who gets to have hot chocolate with Mrs Webb on a Tuesday.
Homework & Reading
We ask that children aim for 15 minutes per week on Numbots: https://play.numbots.com/#/intro
In addition, children should read their phonics book and their reading for pleasure book each night. Please return your child’s reading folder to school every Thursday so books can be changed and sent home again on Friday. Please remember to sign your child's reading record each night.
