Our Class Timetable

Literacy & Numeracy

Children will take turns to choose our end-of-the-day story from the reading area. They will be encouraged to select their favourite book and share why they have chosen it, helping to build confidence and a love of storytelling. This half term, the stories available will focus on themes such as our planet, recycling, and animals, alongside some classic favourites, including The Dinosaur That Pooped the Bed.
Our Curriculum Intentions & Learning Journey
This half term, we’ll be exploring and making simple maps, using Bee-Bots to practise early programming, and comparing towns and the countryside. We’ll also explore ways to look after our planet and our local area, including using natural materials to create beautiful mandala art.
Our enquiry question for Summer Term 1 is: 'How can I look after the world?'

PE Kit: white t-shirt, navy jogging bottoms/shorts, school hoodie/jumper and trainers or pumps.
Rewards
The children will earn rewards for demonstrating positive behaviour, positive attitudes towards learning and working towards our school three school rules:
1. Be Safe
2. Be Kind
3. Be Respectful
The children will receive praise points for individual behaviours and class points for whole class efforts. When 20 class points have been awarded the children will choose their class reward. One child each week will also be rewarded with star of the week. If excellent work or achievement has been demonstrated the children may get to visit Mrs Webb and show their work. The EYFS team will always be watching to see who gets to have hot chocolate with Mrs Webb on a Tuesday.
Homework & Reading
This half term, our homework focus is handwriting. Each Friday, your child will bring home a handwriting sheet with the letters we have practised in school that week. Please complete the sheet and return it by the following Thursday.
We also ask that children aim for 15 minutes per week on Numbots: https://play.numbots.com/#/intro
In addition, children should read their phonics book and their reading for pleasure book each night. Please return your child’s reading folder to school every Thursday so books can be changed and sent home again on Friday. Please remember to sign your child's reading record each night.
Stay and Play Sessions/Upcoming Events
Stay and play sessions will take place on the last Friday of every month. They will start at 9.00am and end at 10.30am. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to spend time the classroom, play with your child and talk to staff members. Please see the list of stay and play dates below:
