Class 3G 2021 - 2022
Welcome to Class 3G.
This year in Class 3G we have two groups of children. A Monday and Tuesday group and Thursday and Friday group. When the children are not learning in 3G they will be at their home schools. We have good working relations with all schools and aim to make sure children enjoy their learning.
Mrs Badger teaches the class and works on Speech and Language within lessons. Miss Barton will be doing one-to-one speech and language sessions on a daily basis.

Home/ School communication
We will be using the seesaw app to communicate with you about your child. You will receive an email explaining how to log on. We will put photos of what we have been doing in class and also any other information we feel that you need to know. This is a place where you can communicate with us as well. If you have any questions about your child's learning then please send us a message on Seesaw or phone the school office.
Our Learning Journey
Curriculum and Learning will be delivered based on basic skills and individual speech targets. All speech targets will be set by and following an assessment with a Speech and Language Therapist. In addition to the above documents, parents will be sent a copy of the Speech and Language Care Plans. These targets will be taught discretely as well as being weaved into the curriculum.
Writing, Reading & Speech
We read a class book with the children in class every day. The pupils will be using Epic for home reading and will be doing guided reading on a weekly basis linked to their phonics needs.
The 'BIG TALK' during reading we are looking at different pictures and asking/answering questions:
Who? What? Where?
When? How? Why?
We will be working on basic skills such as:
These will be based on individual needs and we will be setting tasks using Seesaw.
Snack & Water Bottles
Every child will need to bring a clearly labelled water bottle which we encourage them to drink throughout the day alongside other drinks. If you would like your child to bring in a piece of fruit they can do so or a healthy snack such as crackers, breadsticks. Crisps, nuts and chocolate are not allowed.
Learning in the Outdoors
We value learning outside of the classroom. We use the outdoors every day as part of our curriculum offer to enrich our learning. We have fantastic school grounds with two woodland areas and a large playground. The children will be taking part in Forest School sessions each week.
Wellbeing and sensory
Praise points and Class points
Our children are regularly rewarded for their behaviours and attitudes around school each day. They will be rewarded with praise point certificates at the end of each term.
The children will be awarded praise points for a number of things; attendance, pleasing work, good manners, having the right equipment, achieving next steps, good toileting and eating habits and displaying good manners to others.
Class Points are awarded for attendance, having the correct uniform, lining up beautifully on the playground. Once we have gained 10 class points we will have a treat, this might be a special snack, extra playtime or bringing a toy to school.
Please see attached files below which outlines what we will be doing during the half term.
